We see it all the time. A new fitness product comes out, and then after a bunch of people get hooked, we find out they put something weird in it. It’s more of a science experiment than it is food.
Unfortunately, because of all that, some of our customers ask the same thing before they try our protein cookie dough bites for themselves.
Are they healthy? Can you eat them for breakfast? Are you going to get hooked just to find out the macros are off, or does it have something in it that’s bad for you?
Rather than just say “no” and move on, we’re more than happy to go over every aspect of our cookie dough bites in full detail.
Are protein cookie dough bites healthy? Here are the facts, and we won’t sugar-coat a thing.
The Simple Answer
Yes. In general, our cookie dough is healthy.
What really gets neglected in the wellness and fitness world is what “healthy” actually means. From fad diets to randomly picking common ingredients to blacklist them or hail them as the healthiest food on the planet, there are a lot of quirks in the culture itself.
The simple answer doesn’t counter those issues effectively. So, here are some detailed breakdowns of why it’s healthy.
Yes, There’s Sugar: But It’s Okay
We’ll address this one first because it’s what’s going to get most of the feathers ruffled.
Right off the bat, yes, we use sugar. We use sugar and pure cane molasses to add flavor to our cookie dough bites and a satisfying sweetness.
No, that’s not unhealthy.
Sugar isn’t the plague. Our products are high in protein but low in sugar. The key is balancing the sugar out and minimizing its use to a healthy amount.
That’s what so many people get wrong, and they end up eating cardboard or doing weird, unsatisfying, things such as sucking on ice cubes when they get cravings.
We use very little sugar. It’s a fraction of your total daily allowance. We also only use good sugars. That’s another key point.
A lot of the things that sugar gets blamed for aren’t even its fault.
Many of the products that are called “sugary junk” actually don’t use much sugar at all. They use lots of artificial sweeteners that are more like science fair projects than food. You can’t blame sugar for what those things do.
Then, there’s the overconsumption of sugar. That is a problem, but we use so little that you’d have to burn through a week’s supply of our cookie bites in a single day to do that with our bites, and at that point, you’re getting way more protein than you need in a day. So, sugar isn’t the issue.
We use sugar responsibly, and we always go for quality. This checks out as a healthy option for your sweet tooth.
Servings Designed to Fill You Up with Purpose Rather Than Junk
Once you start checking out macros, it’s easy to look at every single calorie and what it has to offer from a nutrient standpoint. That’s totally understandable. Except that also gets overwhelming for many people.
We make it easy to watch your macros with our protein cookie dough bites. Our products are light on calories but heavy on the gains!
The calories are pretty low at just 270 per bag of cookie dough bites. With a standard 2000-calorie diet, that leaves plenty of room for your meals and non-water beverages throughout the day.
However, those calories aren’t empty. For just 270 calories, you also get 15 grams of protein and 8 grams of healthy fat, and you only get 6 grams of sugar.
That’s perfect for a snack. Every single calorie is going toward something that is more than worthwhile, and even the sugar provides you with a little bit of energy on top of making the cookie dough taste good.
That’s one of the main benefits of our cookie dough bites: nothing is wasted, and you can trust that you’re getting nutrients for the calories. Not just empty garbage.
No Random Science Experiments
You won’t find anything that looks like a random science experiment in our ingredient list. Everything is a healthy option used in all kinds of healthy foods you eat every day. We’re not trying to win the science fair.
Whether you’re into birthday cake flavor or craving that classic chocolate chip vibe, we’re trying to give you the highest quality protein boost you can get to stay healthy and reach peak performance.
Even the ingredients that you need very little of throughout the day are perfectly natural, and your body breaks them down and uses them well. There are no weird health side effects, troublesome FDA concerns, or anything else for any of the ingredients we use.
They’re proven to be healthy and safe.
When Can Our Protein Cookie Dough Bites Be Considered Unhealthy?
We said we weren’t sugarcoating things, and we meant it. We’re not here to toot our own horn. We want you to know the facts.
There are two instances where our cookie dough bites might not be considered healthy.
First, there’s overconsumption. Too much of a good thing can still be a bad thing. That goes for our bites just like it does for cheeseburgers and ice cream cones. It’s just harder to do that with our bites.
For example, the average male needs 56 grams of protein per day as a limit, and females need 48. More can be had if you’re a bodybuilder or doing very hard workouts. If you eat 5 bags of our 15-gram protein bites on top of your meals, you’ll probably be overdoing it.
Also, if you’re not living a healthy lifestyle with exercise and appropriate eating for normal meals, adding high-protein cookie dough to your diet for fun can be a little bit of an issue. Especially if you eat multiple bags.
Of course, we recommend everyone get a good workout in and focus on their health, and our customers are likely to be doing that.
