Protein cookie dough and fruit

How to Pair Protein Cookie Dough with Fruit for a Balanced Snack

Our protein cookie dough bites are amazing on their own. They have 15 grams of protein, 8 grams of fat, 6 grams of sugar, and just 37 carbs. All for 270 calories. However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t room to get creative.

One of the best sweet combinations is our protein cookie dough and fruit.

Here are some tips and tricks to pair protein cookie dough with different fruits to get even better results and a balanced snack.

Why Pair Protein Cookie Dough with Fruit?

If FUUL protein cookie dough is so great, why should you pair it with anything? Well, there are three great reasons. And if you’ve ever tried to fit protein cookie dough into your meals, you already know that pairing it with the right foods can make it even better.

First, everybody likes to mix things up occasionally. Even pizza can get a bit boring if you eat it the same way every day. FUUL provides the core macros you need throughout the day, and it tastes amazing, but it’s perfectly fine to add a bit of variety when you have the chance.

Then, there’s a bit of an issue some folks might want to consider with their bowel movements. It might not be pleasant to think about, but if you’re on a very high-protein diet, minor constipation might be a mild problem.

FUUL doesn’t go overboard with protein. So, it won’t cause that issue on its own. However, if you eat a lot of protein-packed foods on top of your daily FUUL, your chances of getting stopped up increase.

Fruits are packed with water and fiber. Both of those help keep your bowel movements regular, and if you’re eating protein like a starving bear right before winter, you want to fit fiber-rich foods into your diet. Snack time is perfect for that.

Lastly, fruits have a lot of vitamins. At least, many of them are. FUUL has your macros covered, but adding a bit of fruit gives you a vitamin boost that complements FUUL perfectly.

Our Favorite Fruit Pairing for Protein Cookie Dough Bites

Protein cookie dough snacks give you a satisfying, macro-friendly base that actually supports your health instead of dragging you down like typical sugary desserts. We’ve eaten a lot of FUUL protein cookie dough bites, and we love to mix it up. Here are some of our favorite ways to balance snack time.

1. Cookie Dough Fruit Parfait

This is a delicious treat that can easily replace a meal, give you a nice post-workout boost, or even replace your nighttime bowl of ice cream. And it’s also super simple.

Take some plain vanilla yogurt from your favorite brand, some strawberries and blueberries, and a bag of protein cookie dough bites. Put some yogurt in the bottom of a cup, followed by berries and cookie dough, and keep layering it until you’ve got a delicious parfait.

This takes FUUL to a whole new level nutritionally and in terms of flavor.

You get lots of fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants from the berries, and the yogurt provides plenty of calcium and extra protein for an even more protein-packed snack.

There’s just one thing you need to watch out for. Some of the yogurt options on the market have tons of sugar and fat in them, and that can offset the positive benefits quite a bit. Try to find a high-quality yogurt you enjoy that has good macros.

2. Peanut Butter Fruit Bowl with Cookie Dough

If you like the thick, spoon-hugging goodness of a concrete, but you can’t stand the fat and sugar content, this one’s for you. It’s also extremely simple.

Take some peanut butter, chop up bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and similar fruits, toss in your FUUL protein cookie dough bites, and mix it all up. It might not be an actual ice cream cone, but you don’t need to feel bad about eating it, either. After all, high-protein cookie dough snacks reduce your sugar cravings, which makes this an even better option when you’re trying to avoid overly sweet desserts.

Like the parfait, you get even more protein, fiber, antioxidants, vitamins, potassium, and more compared to just eating FUUL on its own.

There are some things to look for, though. Many peanut butter products have a lot of fat and sugar. You can find a balanced version that minimizes those ingredients, or you can even purchase powdered peanut butter that is designed to get rid of all that. You add water and mix it up.

This one’s sure to help you get your fruit needs met, satisfy your sweet tooth, and take a while to eat, so you don’t feel ripped off by your snack.

3. Cookie Dough and Bananas

This pairing sounds a bit odd, and it certainly is plain, but it goes together beautifully.

Bananas provide plenty of potassium and fiber, but they’re also creamy as you break them down, especially if you get them when they’re a bit riper.

Combined with protein cookie dough, this is a lot like eating banana pudding or another creamy treat without all the fat and sugar that tends to be a part of that. Yes, it’s different. It’s a close enough experience that it can kick your cravings to the curb while being 100% wellness-oriented, though.

If you cut it up and toss the dough bites in, it’s an even closer experience.

4. Eat it for Breakfast

Eating protein cookie dough for breakfast is a great idea, and it’s even better when you pair it with fruits. You can pick any of your favorite fruit options, because we’re not trying to create anything with this tip.

With this approach, you start your day with plenty of protein, vitamins, fiber, and other nutrients, and you get a heavy boost of natural sweetness from the fruit, but you also get an energy boost

Too often, you probably rely on caffeine. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. We certainly love our caffeine in the morning. However, getting your energy boost from natural sugars and the vitamins in fruit is a lot better for you than suddenly chugging 150mg in a drink full of garbage.
